Hi Scott and Amy, Thank you both for making last Thursday evening a memorable experience for Comair's Ovation honorees. We wanted to thank you for a wonderful reception! We had so many people comment and compliment what a great reception it was – BEST EVER, many said. The contract showing all the information and room layout was a big item to me. I read through everything on the pages and knew what I needed to do to make sure everything was covered. This was excellent. If you read the contract and items listed then you knew what was expected. The presentation of the food was great. I liked the carver for the meat. I don not like meat presented in a buffet pan and this added a special touch to the meal. It makes the meat look fresh. I would have no doubts having McHale’s (again). I received so many compliments from everyone. They thought that everything flowed nicely and there was not a lot of down time. Everything kept moving. People liked having the wedding and reception in one place.

Sarah, I wanted to send you a thank you note to let you know that everything was beautiful for the wedding. The staff was great, food was delicious, and the setting was beautiful. Since we planned the wedding in about seven months, we had to make big decisions quickly and the amenities of The Gardens helped us make a quick decision. Of all the vendors I worked with in planning the wedding, McHale’s was by far the easiest. Most vendors had a list of things that I needed to do for THEM, but McHale’s had a list of the things that THEY were going to do for ME. Many of our family members and the bridal party commented on how the staff was extremely helpful with those involved in the wedding … always asking if there was anything the bridal party (including myself, the bride!) needed. We were just more than happy with everything about the reception. The room looked beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional.

We were VERY pleased with what McHale's had to offer and were continually impressed with the great efforts made to ensure that our needs and requests were met. Megan never failed to answer any questions nor provide assistance with some of our more unusual requests. We were especially impressed by her professionalism. Michael and I, along with my parents were blown away by the efforts and professionalism of McHale's and the Gardens staff. Not only was our wedding day something that we were blessed with by joining one another, but it was an added joy that so many people went to great lengths in order to ensure that our reception went exactly as planned. We have quite a few friends who would possibly have a need for McHale's in the near future and we will gladly recommend it to them. Every last detail was what I had expected and more, down to the efforts to provide me with my favorite drink, an apple martini, an item not usually offered. I will always look back fondly on my wedding day's festivities, thanks largely to the McHale's staff and that of the Gardens.

Dear McHale’s staff: I am not sure I can adequately express my gratitude for the outstanding job you did for us at our daughter’s wedding on October 24th. The entire day I felt so pressured to make sure everything was going well; at the church, at the small, informal reception afterward and everything in between. As soon as I got to The Gardens, however, everything was taken out of my hands and put into the extremely capable hands of that evening’s staff. There was nothing that they did not take care of even before I knew it needed to be done. The room was beautiful, the food outstanding and the night went off without a hitch. I received many, many compliments that night and continue to even now, weeks later. The best one I received however was: It was the most elegant yet least stuffy reception to which I have ever been. - I don’t think you can ask for more than that. As I said, these words seem so very much less than what I want to say. I am sure you are all well aware of the pressures that come along with planning a wedding. There is nothing I would have done differently for the reception and that is a great thing to be able to say after the day you planned for a year finally comes and goes. Amy, I just wanted to let you know that the wedding went well, the food was excellent (which is still getting great reviews from our guests) and your staff was superior! I really dreaded the thought of having to break everything down after the wedding, but your staff and Katy (of the Drees Pavilion) took everything apart, cleaned up, packed it and had it ready to wheel to our cars before I could blink. I can’t tell you what a relief and huge timesaver that was for us at the end of the evening. Your staff was more than accommodating; they just couldn’t do enough for us. I truly appreciate them! Thanks for everything! The wedding reception was perfect – we have had SO MANY compliments on how beautiful everything was and how terrific the service was. We loved working with Sarah. She was able to give us a very clear picture of what the room setup and what the whole event would be like. And she was so helpful with getting those wine bottles and putting out the place cards. McHale’s staff was very accommodating-allowed use to hold the room for 24 hours before signing a contract. As my mom said, The Gardens Vista Room is the best kept secret for receptions. The service was unbelievable (Bride and Groom’s plates were carried to the table as well as grandparents, very nice touch). The food was delicious-tastings did not do a justice for how good the food was. I would highly recommend this hall (and Megan) to anyone I know. I was SO thrilled with the entire event. Thank you for EVERYTHING Megan. The day was 100% perfect.

The initial call was not place to McHale’s, but was a transfer from Elegance. Jenny performed admirably under the somewhat adverse conditions of the situation. McHale’s is a very well run organization. I will be using McHale’s for both of my daughters’ weddings in the future. - Jim.

We met with Sarah and Megan during our booking process and both were incredibly helpful. They were willing to meet with us at any time (even New Years Eve before the Marquise event!) and help us with everything we needed while we decided on our venue. They never made us feel like we were asking too many questions or taking up too much of their time. Megan was incredible - I can't say enough good things. She responded to all my calls and emails very quickly, always offering to take anything off my plate if I needed help. She coordinated everything so well, gave us guidance as we made our decisions and made this process even more exciting and fun than we had expected. Everyone had the time of their lives - I have never seen a wedding run so smoothly before. I was blown away by Millie and all of the servers - they kept everything on track and made sure all the bridal party and immediate family were taken care of. They even went through the buffet line with parents of small children, helping get plates for the kids and then helping cut the kid's meat and make the evening as hassle-free for the parents as possible.Those efforts were so much appreciated. We received the nicest compliments on the quality of the food, the service and the look of the room. Everything exceeded our expectations. We really can't thank Megan, Chuck, Millie and everyone enough for everything. I never would have thought this process could be so easy and the evening could run so smoothly. We appreciate everyone's help - we were thrilled to have the bar open longer and keep the dance floor going for a few more songs. It really meant so much to us and our guests. Even though we just dealt with McHale's for a short period of time after they took over the (Florentine) facility, we were extremely pleased with the help/guidance we received. When you plan a wedding for almost a year and then the last month, the facility changes ownership we were a little nervous of what to expect. After meeting and speaking with Jenny and Melinda, we were relieved and actually very pleased with the smoothness of how everything went. They made the transition as stress free as possible. The actual new planning contract was much more specific and detailed just about every possible item. They were extremely helpful with suggestions and with advising of ways things are normally done. The room setup was absolutely gorgeous. I was very impressed – I didn’t have to worry about anything – you guys did all of it! Just wanted to thank your staff for their excellent service and attendance at our daughter’s wedding on Saturday, the Barney/Behrle wedding. We were treated like royalty. The food was excellent. Your banquet manager on that evening was extremely attentive as was all your staff. We greatly appreciated all the nice little touches as well, like the door attendant, and greatly appreciated the assistance to our elderly relative by getting the wheelchair. Then you topped it off by having all our gifts packed up and downstairs, as well as the flowers and assisted with helping us get them in the car. Wonderful!! I don't believe anyone in our party had ever been there, including the photographer. They all raved about the setting and the service and I am sure you will get return visits because of your wait staff. Our (event) is a staff meeting with the hot breakfast buffet. We have been using McHale’s for our meetings for several years and are quite satisfied.

To Management & Staff of The Grand: It’s been almost a month since the Messaros/Gerdes wedding reception at the Grand. Jill’s dad and I would like to compliment all of you in your superb execution of the evening event. When we entered the dining area, we were so pleased with the table presentation, warm colors, sparkling chandeliers, attentive staff and total classiness. We appreciate your willingness to expend extra time and effort with regard to arranging the window sill lighting and cookie tables … also your willingness to fuss with the Slurpee machine! Although we did not arrive in time for the balcony appetizers, we have received many thumbs up regarding that as well. I must, of course, mention the quality and presentation of the buffet (McHale’s). At the end of the evening, the staff was so efficient and caring in the dismantling of the tables, window decorations, boxing the cake and cookies and getting us organized for departure. At the point the bride and groom stepped out of the building to leave, they realized that they had not arranged for transportation to the hotel. We could have squeezed them into our car, but Todd insisted on using his car to drive them over … Wow! In conclusion, we honestly cannot think of even one thing to complain about. McHale’s menu was very easy to understand. Great website. Food tasting event was great. The room layout document was great. Brent and Melinda were very helpful in planning. The Banquet Staff went above and beyond … From greeting the wedding party at the limo to keeping our drinks filled all night to helping my grandma get food, the personal service was superb. Our guests were impressed! Overall, we had an outstanding experience. So many people commented on how nice the hall is, how great the food was, and great cocktail hour. I like how you have servers passing out drinks and hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour; it adds an extra touch of class over other receptions. Your pricing is very reasonable for what you get. You pamper the wedding party and the bride and groom … totally unexpected but much appreciated. I really appreciate McHale’s staff leaving out cheese and crackers for me to munch on all night since I didn’t eat much at dinner. My drink was kept full. I LOVE how you helped the elderly at the buffet. Keep doing that. As far as planning, Melinda was great in suggesting where to put stuff because I had no idea. Brent was great when dropping everything off and keeping us organized. As far as the cleanup, Todd was great in making sure we had everything. He even gave us a ride back to our hotel! Millie was awesome, too. Thank you for being flexible, professional, and top of the line. We are so glad we found the hall and chose McHale’s. Keep it up!

Very happy about the planning process … Melinda was wonderful about returning emails and phone calls, very quick. The staff was great the night of the event. I honestly can’t say enough. It was AMAZING!! You and your staff have consistently gone above and beyond our expectations. You can’t imagine how many times I heard, “I wish our reception hall would have ____ (fill in the blank)”. From the plate of hot and cold appetizers waiting for us at the head table, the wine already poured at our seats, the served meals, the beverage service during dinner and throughout the night, boxing up our cake so we could actually enjoy it instead of rush through it to talk to people. The take away boxes for after the reception with bottled water and plastic silverware. The amazing service you gave our parents, family and friends. Both mothers were just awed by how they were greeted by your staff and served throughout the night. Serving my sister’s best friend an extra salad without dressing after noticing she wasn’t eating it and asking if she would like something else. The food was outstanding, the service absolutely exceeded our expectations. Phyllis was DYNAMITE…all of the staff that evening was amazing to work with!! Every single staff person truly made us feel like they were honored to work our wedding and that is an amazing feeling…just made us both feel like we were on top of the world. We honestly could not have asked for anything else. We plan to write a formal recommendation letter for you to use but please don’t hesitate to ever have someone contact us as a referral. It was a great experience and very easy to get everything planned. Sarah was great in getting back to me promptly and working with me on our budget needs. Everything went very smoothly and was a wonderful experience. Sarah was very informed and had lots of good ideas for decorating and planning the reception. The banquet manager, Lynn was incredible. She was always asking if I needed anything and she took really great care of my husband and our parents. She was such a great help to us all and the event went perfectly. Also, the person that helped set up the hall in the morning after we left did a great job making the place look wonderful. It was a dream reception!

I just can't express in words how Melinda walked us though the process with proficiency. Answered all questions and gave suggestions that were very helpful. She had the beverage that the father of the bride and groom requested on hand the evening of the event. All the staff was available for any questions or comments. They continued to make sure everything was meeting our expectations, which of course they were above our dreams. Weddings are very stressful time and your staff and facility took away all of this and made wonderful memories of a wedding reception and we can't thank you enough.

The tasting was fantastic and left us with no doubts on the decisions we've made. Brent and Melinda were fantastic throughout the entire planning process. They covered every base and left us with nothing to worry about. We cannot say enough about how smoothly our reception went and how enjoyable it was. We received numerous compliments on how impressed our guests were with everything. All the staff bent over backward and it was much appreciated. We selected The Grand because we loved the facility and the fantastic service we received really went above and beyond expectations. You made our wedding night worry-free. I'd like to say an extra thank you for the attention paid to my (the bride's) grandmother. She really appreciated the help with food and drink and even trips to the restroom. It was especially helpful to my aunt, who normally has to attend to this and miss out on some of the fun. You received kudos from all my family. Oh! And thank you for the limo referral. They were fantastic. The driver even came through with a Tide stain stick, which was crucial when I found a mascara stain on a very inopportune portion of my dress.

Another year has come and gone for our event, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome! The room looked as beautiful as the gorgeous spring day outside – just heavenly! The room totally popped with all the sensational napkin colors and the centerpieces. They were definitely IN SYNC ,and created just the vision I had in my brain! I am so thankful for your recommendation to us the outside vendor for the napkins! It really helped to be there the day before to see the napkins and test the DVD. Bonnie and her team were outstanding, as usual! Every detail was attended to, mostly before I even thought of it! Bonnie was so dear to pack to-go lunches for Gladys, the photographer and me since we hardly get a chance to sit and enjoy the yummy menu while it’s warm. The plates looked really pretty and also colorful with the spinach fettucini, the carrots, and tomato on the Tuscan Chicken. It was all so good, and as the main meal for so many of our people, it was plenty of food to satisfy everyone! The DVD worked perfectly and also added more color to the room with the puzzle graphic displayed. I was so glad you had an easil for our unveiling of our new mission statement. It was such a sturdy and elegant easil – much better than anything we have at the hospital, so thank you so much for providing it! The IPOD music was wonderful, and I’m so grateful to you for brining it in. I had a couple of people remark about the great music! I’m sorry I missed you, but was so happy to meet Mary and Todd- a true successful family enterprise! Everyone has said what a lovely event it was, so I’m considering that a sign of success. I thought the program ran a little long even though I tried to shorten it! On the other hand, I also received comments that it was really interesting to hear how much the volunteers do for the hospital and in so many different ways! At any rate, I appreciate all that you do to make our event run so smoothly! I sure depend on that so much, and you always come through with flying colors! It was such a pleasure to work with the entire McHale group once again. I wanted to thank you, Melinda for all your help with our wedding. We had an outstanding event at the Grand and all our guests loved the venue. Everything was exceptional. The room was set up exactly as planned and the guests were treated very well. My event planner was Amy. She was very helpful in giving me ideas which is just what I needed as a first time bride!! All of the staff members were great! Everything was wonderful & worth every penny, I would do it again the same way.

Amy never made us feel like there was a rush or any type of pressure to get a decision until we were completely satisfied with our choice. She did a superb job helping get all of the arrangements in order. Our guests were very impressed with the appearance of the room, the food, the service and many guests commented on the fact that bottled beer was served rather than draft (much appreciated!!). As cliche as it sounds, our day was perfect and The Marquise was a HUGE part of that!
